Today's Story Highlights

Can Google Drive and Docs Add More Shine to Chrome OS?
Despite light sales of its Chromebook laptops, Google on Wednesday
released version 20 of its Chrome operating system. Chrome 20 contains
various new features and tweaks, as well as improvements to security and
stability features. It also now supports Google Drive and lets users
edit Google Docs offline.

Astronomers Spot Moon No. 5 Circling Un-Planet Pluto
Pluto may no longer be considered a true planet following its official
reclassification in 2006, but that doesn't appear to be stopping the
tiny dwarf planet from amassing a considerable number of celestial
"followers." Just this week, in fact, a team of astronomers using NASA's
Hubble Space Telescope announced their discovery of yet another moon
orbiting Pluto.

Some Macs Won't Get to Lie With the Mountain Lions
When Apple releases the next version of its desktop operating system
later this month, there will be glum faces among some owners of older
Macs. The company has announced that six Mac models, as well as hoary
versions of its defunct Xserve enterprise platform, won't be supported
by OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

Hotels.com Steers Toward Savings - if You Can Find the Hotel
Here's a likely familiar summer scenario for many Americans: You've been
driving all day, and it's getting late. You're tired. You're ready for a
hotel bed in an unknown town coming up ahead. My modus operandi has
always been to watch for billboards advertising upcoming motels with
rates. Or, I might exit the freeway at an obvious motel cluster and
drive around looking for the best rate.

Court Lets Startup Rebroadcast Live TV to Web-Connected Devices
On Thursday a federal judge in New York denied a request by several
broadcasters including ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC to shut down startup
Aereo's streaming video platform, which utilizes arrays of dime-sized
antennas to receive free, over-the-air programming and then streams the
content online and even to mobile devices.
