Today's Story Highlights

Horizon Keeps iPhone Video Shooting on the Level
Even if you've never been guilty of sharing one of those annoying
vertical videos, you may have run into a situation where you've been
filming and moving around at the same time -- and because you were
scrambling over a rock or playfully wrestling while recording, your fun
little video perspective spun vertical on you. Once you start shooting
vertically, you're stuck.

Quirky Linux Gets More Pep Out of Puppy
Quirky is a very interesting Linux distro that is a developmental
sideline of the main Puppy Linux family. I expected some quirks in
Quirky's design and performance, despite its mature growth to version
6.1 released on Jan. 1. However, the few quirks I found did not mar its
performance. Quirky was easy to set up and fun to run. It is just as
reliable and complete as the main Puppy Linux distro.

ICE Goes Medieval on Glass-Wearing Moviegoer
A man who wore Google Glass to a movie last weekend was hauled out of
the theater and questioned for several hours by federal authorities over
piracy concerns. The officials reportedly took no action against the man
after they determined the wearable tech device functioned as his
prescription glasses, and that he did not have the Google Glass
recording feature activated.

English Soccer Player Lobs One at Twitter
Stan Collymore, a retired soccer player from England, accused Twitter of
sitting on its hands when it comes to combating abusive messages -- of
which he has received many. Collymore, now a broadcaster, became a troll
target after he suggested Liverpool forward Luis Suarez faked a foul --
"diving," in soccer parlance -- in a game played last Saturday.

Nest CEO Promises to Preserve Privacy
Nest CEO Tony Fadell took on one of the many lingering questions about
Google's $3.2 billion acquisition of the company: What will become of
its privacy policy? Any changes to Nest's privacy policy will be opt-in,
and the company will be "transparent" about those changes to its users,
Fadell promised. This assurance from Fadell is almost as significant as
Google's acquisition of Nest.
