The Automation Revelation (21:39 minutes)
UK managed service provider InTechnology says it's reaped tremendous
benefits from an automated lifecycle approach. "When you've got like 80
percent of all incidents raised automatically, it takes a massive burden
off the 24/7 teams and the customer support guys, who are not spending
the majority of their time creating incidents but actually working to
resolve them," said InTechnology's Ed Jackson.

Today's Story Highlights
Galaxy S II Whirls Into US
Samsung Telecommunications America has announced it will launch its
latest Android smartphone, the Galaxy S II, on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile
in the U.S. this fall. The device apparently has won consumers' hearts
and minds, with 5 million units having been snapped up in 85 days in
Europe and Korea, Samsung claims.

Dead Tablet Walking
HP has opted to continue producing its TouchPad tablet device, at least
temporarily, in response to an explosion of demand among consumers. That
demand was likely spurred by a drastic drop in price the tablet
underwent earlier this month -- just after HP announced that it was
discontinuing the TouchPad. The device, which sold for $500 when it
debuted a few weeks ago, dropped to $99 at some retailers.

Hey, Mom - What's a Wallet?
Thanks to a variety of mobile payment systems, buying and selling goods
and services has never been easier. Increasingly, mobile devices are
becoming both credit-card readers and stand-ins for the cards
themselves. It might not mean the end of cash just yet, but we're moving
in that direction. "Ten years from now, we'll be able to live without
much of a wallet," said Double Diamond President Todd Ablowitz.

Have Apps, Will Travel - Part 2
No matter how many virtual meeting applications spring up and how
popular they may be, travel is still a bit part of corporate life.
Fortunately, mobile apps have made the task more tolerable, more
efficient and considerably more pleasant. That is, of course, if you're
using the best apps for the trip you're planning.

TrueCrypt Locks Down Data In a Rock-Solid Vault
Linux users are blessed with a collection of file encryption tools. But
chances are, whatever application you use for that task lacks the
efficiency, speed and functionality of TrueCrypt. TrueCrypt does what
any file encryption application is supposed to: It locks down access to
your data so no one without a password or keyfile can grab it.
