An App Store of Your Own (38:42 minutes)
Mobile app stores work well for both buyers and sellers. The users are
really quite happy with paying for what they have on the spot, as long
as that process is quick, seamless and convenient. Vendors, service
providers and communication service providers should therefore explore
how such stores can be created quickly and efficiently to strike, as it
were, while the app store iron is hot.

Today's Story Highlights
Sony's New Toys May Not Be Enough to Shake Security Blues
Innovative 3D technology, connectivity, a new Move controller and the
reveal of a 3G NGP (Next Generation Portable) were some of the
highlights rolled out by Sony's video game division at the E3 2011
Conference in Los Angeles on Monday. Sony Computer Entertainment
President and CEO Jack Tretton greeted members of the media and tech
industry to spotlight some of the company's latest developments.

Adventures in Invention: Printing Objects
Maybe the "printer" part of "3D printer" is not exactly the right word,
since printing has so long been thought of as a two-dimensional process
of applying ink to paper. But the term, like the 3D printing process
itself, seems to be here to stay. 3D printers, which use a wide range of
technologies to produce actual objects from digital files, are
revolutionizing what it means to conceive of, design and make things.

FOSS Hacker's Reverse-Engineering Has Skype Seething
Skype's code has been hacked and its innards published on the Web by
Efim Bushmanov, a self-described freelance researcher in the tiny Komi
Republic, about 870 miles from Moscow. His aim, he said, was to make
Skype open source. Another goal: to find "friends who can spend many
hours for completely reverse it" because he hadn't finished the task.

What Is the Sound of 2 Hands Typing? With OmmWriter, It's 'Dammit!'
Writers have a long tradition of crawling under rocks in order to do
what they do. They'll lock themselves in faraway cabins, attics,
basements, bunkers, car trunks or wherever else they think they can get
some peace and quiet. Some of them do this purely because they generally
hate company, but for others it's only because they want a completely
distraction-free environment.

Microsoft Seizes the Moment With Gaming News
On the eve of the Electronic Entertainment Expo, Microsoft premiered a
lineup of new games for the Xbox 360, including "Gears of War 3" and
"Forza Motorsport 4." The company also debuted the trailer for "Halo 4"
and unveiled the next installment of "Fable," by developer Peter
Molyneux. In addition, Microsoft announced a new voice-based
entertainment search tool.
