BlackBerry Sweetens BBM for Android and iOS
After releasing its BlackBerry Messenger chat app for Android and iOS
devices to considerable fanfare last fall, BlackBerry on Thursday
announced that it had expanded the app's functionality on those
platforms with two key features. Previously available only to users of
BlackBerry's own mobile platform, BBM Voice and BBM Channels are now
part of the company's offerings for Android and iPhone.

High-Tech Suits a Suspect in Weak US Speedskating Performance
The U.S. speedskating team's high-tech suits -- which theoretically are
supposed to help shave seconds and accrue medals -- have been identified
as a suspect in the team's stunning faceplant at the Sochi Games. Before
the Games, the suits, designed by U.S.-based sportswear giant Under
Armour, were deemed to be on the cutting edge of racing technology.

version, Distro Astro 2.0, is dubbed "Pallas." It was released Nov. 20,
2013, at the South East Asian Young Astronomers Collaboration conference
in Bandung, Indonesia. It is a major upgrade focusing on refinements for
professional astronomers.

Jade Rabbit Lunar Rover Sputters Back to Life
Despite having been declared dead, China's moon rover is showing signs
of life. After two weeks of gloomy silence, the Jade Rabbit appears to
be up and running again. The country's first lunar rover had lost
communication with mission control following technical malfunctions,
according to state media, but the rover reportedly is now "fully awake"
and receiving signals as normal.
