Today's Story Highlights
Innovation vs. Execution: Nadella's Brilliant Stroke
There has been a lot of discussion on the differences between Steve
Jobs' Apple and Steve Ballmer's Microsoft, with a common argument being
that Apple innovated and Microsoft didn't. I'd argue that Microsoft out-
innovated Apple during Ballmer's tenure, but Apple out-executed
Microsoft. During the last decade, Bill Gates proved to be more of a
liability than an asset to Microsoft.

Unable to Dent Wallet, France Attacks Google's Pride
France's top administrative court ruled that Google must display a
notice on its French search page saying that the company was fined by a
local privacy watchdog. Google plans to fight the fine, but will have to
adorn its Google.fr page with the humiliating message in the meantime.
In January, French privacy regulators followed through on previous
threats by fining Google roughly $200,000.

Team USA in Sochi: High-Tech Gear Spurs High Hopes

between making the podium or not can come down to milliseconds in some
events. At this year's Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, new advances in
fabrics, materials and designs are giving the athletes an edge as they
go for the gold.

Aqua Mail Pro Beats Native Android Email Hands Down
If you've been thinking that there must be a better way to handle email
than the email client supplied natively in Android, I bring good news:
There is, and it's called "Aqua Mail." As things are right now, my on-
device solutions are a bit of a mess. I have my Gmail-produced work
emails appearing in the Gmail client, while my personal, custom-domain
email is housed in the Android-native client.

Apple Could Put Quantum Dots Before Your Eyes
Not quite content with pushing the boundaries on the level of screen
clarity with the vaunted Retina display, Apple apparently is
investigating new ways of advancing screen technology. The USPTO on
Thursday published three patent applications that detail Apple's
interest in improving the Retina display through the use of quantum
dots. The technology would enhance colors.
